Precision Organoid Engineering
As part of the Precision Organoid Engineering for Multi-Organ Studies (POEM) network and the CellNetworks Core Technology Platform (CCTP) at Heidelberg University, the Organoid Engineering Lab develops advanced human 3D tissue models for biomedical research. These systems reproduce key aspects of organ structure and function in the laboratory, enabling researchers to study human physiology, disease mechanisms, and complex biological processes with human-relevant models.
The Robotic Organoid Platform integrates robotics, automated cell culture, advanced microscopy, and AI-based analysis into a single workflow. This allows researchers to produce large numbers of standardized tissue models for systematic drug screening, disease modeling across conditions including cancer, heart disease, and neurological disorders, and the AI-driven analysis of complex biological datasets.
