Genome Editing Platform
The Genome Editing Platform provides access to state-of-the-art genome-engineering technologies for generating and functionally analyzing preclinical disease models. By integrating cutting edge CRISPR-based approaches with in vitro and in vivo systems, the platform enables precise genetic manipulation to dissect disease mechanisms and accelerate translational research.
Advancing functional genomics and precision disease modeling, the platform serves as a collaborative infrastructure within the Alliance, bridging expertise in genome editing, model development, and phenotypic characterization to transform genetic discoveries into mechanistic insights and potential therapeutic strategies.
Core technologies and capabilities
- Providing a broad genome engineering toolbox, including CRISPR/Cas systems, base and prime editing, CRISPRa/i (epigenetic silencing/activation), and site-specific recombinases for precise genetic modifications
- Design and generation of targeted sgRNA libraries for high-throughput genetic screening and functional genomics applications
- Generation of tailored cellular and animal models to study gene function, disease mechanisms, and genotype–phenotype relationships
- Functional validation pipelines
- Collaborative research support and knowledge exchange across Alliance institutions
- Application in translational research, including target validation and preclinical evaluation of emerging therapies
